Yesterday a van ploughed through the pedestrian walkway on La Rambla in Barcelona, Spain. At least 14 people were killed and more than 130 injured. Today the streets are filled with crowds of people mourning the city’s loss.
Amid tears, the city hasn’t stopped bustling. Businesses are open and it’s a beautiful day. It feels like society’s way of saying “we won’t let terrorism parayze us with fear.”
As my friends and I make our way through Barcelona on the way to a week of fun in the sun, it’s hard to beleive, just 24 hours earlier, it would have been us in the walkway. It’s a sobering reminder to be vigilient and thankful.
