I’ve spent more than five years living in Atlanta, focused on my job with Delta Air Lines. Before Delta, I never intended to return to Atlanta, so in a sense everything about the past several years has been unexpected. There have been numerous experiences for which I’m immensely grateful — time with my parents, being present for my niece’s birth, living in a Delta hub with easy access to exotic weekend destinations, LEAD Atlanta and so on. This time also included some of the most challenging experiences of my life.
Today I say farewell to the ATL and return to Washington, D.C. for a five month trial, to see if my best life is still there. It feels great — like an invigorating breath of air at the end of a long swim — to have geographic freedom, to choose my home city.
