Kathmandu’s tourist district is bustling by day and lively by night. It feels like celebration for those en route. With an abundance of mountaineering gear trading posts, massage spas and souvenir shops, you’re sure to find what you need whether you’re going or returning.
My final meal in Nepal is the best masala I’ve had in ages. As I enjoy sunset from a rooftop eatery, the aroma of rich incense mixes with mountain breeze wafting through town. The past ten days have certainly been a zen experience, and tonight is right on cue. I can’t imagine a better destination for my first solo long-haul trip.
