Purposeful time, working through challenge towards something bigger, gives meaning to my life. My soul needs purpose-driven time; this is the key to my contentment. So now I embark on the most challenging bucket list trip: the trek to Everest Base Camp.
Small planes take you to theLukla trailhead by way of Tenzing–Hillary Airport — rated the most dangerous airport in the world due to its short, cliff-clinging runway. Local aircraft do not have electronic navigation, so pilots must navigate by sight, requiring clear visibility. As such, weather has prevented trekkers from coming and going for nearly a week.
But I am in luck! Clouds part for my flight to Lukla and Day 1 trek to Phakding. 2850m and we’re climbing!
